My Name is Melissa and I live in beautiful Nauvoo, IL. This is a blog to record my journey on raw food. I will share with you my first 30 days on raw food, some of my favorite recipes, and some very helpful websites. I am sharing because so many people have asked. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at ctradams@juno.com

Helping Kids to Introduce More Raw

Again, I let some time go by. I am going to try to get my kids more raw. I am NOT going to attempt 100% w/them, but if I can get them 50% or more I will be happy. School will be starting this Monday 8/18. They will be eating smoothies in the morning (which they are actually excited about), and then packing their lunch. We are going to be planning the menu today, and doing the necessary shopping. When we get it all figured out, I will let you all know what the menu will be. I promise to blog more often (w/pics), but as for now I have lots to do! Have a happy, healthy day!

Day 8 on 100 day "raw fu" challange

I am so sorry it has been so long. Ok, I have had a VERY emotional "female" week and I haven't been doing the greatest. However, I never went below about 85-90% raw. Today I was about 95%. I want to say hello and thank you to my new found friend Anna! It was great meeting and talking to you at CATO's. I really hope my site is a great help to you. I do believe that Heavenly Father puts people together for a reason.

I LOVE living on live foods. I am happy, healthy, & energetic. I had WW last night (i'm the local leader), and my weight stayed the same this week (132.8). Normally, when I have such a rough week I ALWAYS gain. Because I stayed mostly raw, I didn't have a gain at all! I made a video, but couldn't get it to transfer. I will try again, or maybe have my computer smart hubby help me. Good luck to you all starting, or well on your way to your journey to a healthier life! I love you ALL!!

100 day raw food challange

I forgot to mention that yesterday was day 1 of Bunny's 100 day raw food challenge (check the link under my favorite websites). This is great for me, because my first 30+ days were 90+% raw. I would like to push that to 100% over the next 100 days. I woke up completely re-motivated! For breakfast, I am enjoying a yummy melon right out of the Hardle's garden. Thanks Dave & Lori! I've made mock raw "Meat Loaf" and some raw oatmeal cookies for Jamie. She is going on a short trip w/her parents and I want her to be prepared. You CAN do it Jamie.

Jamie's healing & my slip ups!

In one of my earlier blogs I mentioned that Jamie was starting raw w/me. Well, she is seeing amazing results! We have been walking every morning and loving it (except for the extremely muggy days). It used to be that when we would go walking, she would have to take Ibuprofen (sp?) before every walk or she would be is miserable pain. This is a woman who has a very high threshold for pain. Lately, we have been walking harder, longer, and in some extreme heats, and not ONCE has Jamie had to take pain killers. From the sounds of her symptoms, Jamie was suffering from fibromyalgia. She doesn't feel ANY pain anymore. That is amazing. She is loving the lifestyle so far, and her hubby loves the shakes she makes.

As for me, I have had a bit little of cooked food for the last 3 days. Nothing major, mostly cooked veggies, but still not 100% raw. You know, when I first starting blogging tonight I was irritated w/myself, but I'm not right now. I am still raw, still going at it, and always will be! In Alissa Cohen's book she says that if you eat just a little bit of cooked food everyday, you will always crave it. That being said, tomorrow WILL be 100% raw and I WILL get rid of the cooked food cravings. I know this is the best thing for me and I will stop at NOTHING!! Wow, I feel better already! Thanks for reading!
